  Prita Daliya is a colorectal surgeon with a specialist interest in complex abdominal wall reconstruction working as a consultant at King’s Mill Hospital, Nottinghamshire.

  Mr Mark Cheetham

  Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital, NHS Trust Foundation

  Mark graduated from St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School and trained in general and colorectal surgery on the North West Thames rotation. He has been a consultant general and colorectal surgeon in Shropshire since 2005. Mark is currently the National Clinical Lead for General Surgery at the Getting it Right First Time Programme in NHS England. Mark is a Council Member of the West Midlands Clinical Senate.

  Mr Srinivas Chintapatla

  York and Scarborough Hospitals, NHS Foundation Trust

  Srinivas Chintapatla is a consultant colorectal Surgeon since 2004. He set up the York Abdominal Wall Unit and is known for his work on pathways and processes in Abdominal Wall Hernia management. His research interest is Quality of Life and he publishes on this aspect regularly. He is Director of Patient and Public Involvement for the British Hernia Society.

  Mr Ross Craigie

  Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital

  Ross has been a consultant paediatric and neonatal surgeon at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital since 2010. His clinical interests include paediatric oncology surgery and he is a surgical committee member of the European Paediatric Soft Tissue Sarcoma Study Group (EpSSG). He is the pancreatic surgeon for the Northern Congenital Hyperinsulinism Service at RMCH and provides general surgery of childhood at RMCH, Trafford General Hospital, Royal Bolton Hospital and at Macclesfield District General Hospital.

  Ms Laila Cunin is a General and Colorectal Consultant Surgeon, her NHS practice is at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH)- Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She has a specialist interest in Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstruction and Inflammatory Bowel disease.

  Guy’s and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust, London

  Husam Ebied is a consultant surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust with special interest in hernia, abdominal wall, and biliary surgery. Mr Ebied runs a specialised Hernia and abdominal wall clinic in St Thomas hospital and is a core member of the complex AWR MDM. He is committed to teaching and training as undergraduate teaching lead for the surgical department at St Thomas’s Hospital and honorary senior lecture at King’s college.

  Mr David Layfield

  University Hospital Southampton

  David Layfield is a Consultant in Surgery for Intestinal Failure, Complex Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Revisional Abdominal Wall Reconstruction. He took up his consultant position at University Hospital Southampton in 2021 and prior to that spent a year as a post-CCT fellow at Salford Royal Hospital within the National Intestinal Failure unit.

  Dr Laura Pendower is a Consultant Gastrointestinal Radiologist working at Croydon University Hospital in London, with a special interest in complex abdominal wall reconstruction.

  Dr Archana Ramaswamy

  Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans Hospital, USA

  Archana Ramaswamy completed her medical school and residency at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, followed by a minimally invasive and bariatric surgery fellowship at Emory University. She has obtained a healthcare MBA from the University of St Thomas in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is chief of surgery at VA Loma Linda HealthCare System. She is Past President of the American Hernia Society and is a vice president of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

  Mr T James Royle

  Warwick Medical School

  Mr T James Royle has practised as a consultant general and colorectal surgeon in North East England since 2015. He graduated from University of Birmingham Medical school and completed his surgical training developing his interest in teaching and training, completing a masters in medical education after working as a teaching fellow at Warwick Medical School.

  Mr David Sanders

  David Sanders is a consultant upper GI surgeon and clinical lead for Upper GI Surgery and the Abdominal Wall service at North Devon Hospital in Barnstaple. He completed specialty laparoscopic upper GI training in the South West of England and a trauma fellowship in South Africa. He is the co-chair of the European Hernia Society Incisional Hernia Guidelines Group and past president of the British Hernia Society.

  Mr Duncan Scrimgeour is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary who specialises in the treatment of benign and malignant colorectal conditions and simple and complex abdominal wall hernias.

  Mr Dominic Slade

  Salford Care Organisation, Greater Manchester

  Dominic Slade is a consultant Colorectal, Intestinal Failure and General surgeon at Salford Care Organisation, in Greater Manchester. He completed his specialty training in the North West of England. He is the Chair of the abdominal wall committee of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain & Ireland (ACPGBI), and a committee member of the abdominal wall reconstruction (AWR) committee of the British Hernia Society.

  Mr Oliver Warren

  Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, One Welbeck and The Lister Hospital

  Mr Oliver Warren is Clinical Director of Surgery and a Consultant Surgeon in London, at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, One Welbeck and The Lister Hospital. He is one of the UK’s highest-volume robotic hernia surgeons, with a national referral practice in complex abdominal wall reconstruction, and robotic repair of hernias and the abdominal wall. He chairs the regional Abdominal Wall Reconstruction MDT at Chelsea and Westminster.

  Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust Foundation

  Marina Yiasemidou is a consultant colorectal surgeon at the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. Her subspecialist interests include AWR, pelvic floor and colorectal cancer. In addition to the her role in the BHS training and education committee, she’s also a council member for ALSGBI, EAES research committee and an associate editor for BJS/BJS open.
